CDL-A OTR Flatbed Driver

Pay & Bonuses

  • 27% of load

  • $5,000 Sign-On Bonus (paid at first load, 6 months, and 1 year)

  • Paid weekly via direct deposit

  • $300/week non-taxed per diem

  • Detention: $16/hr after 2 hours

  • Tarp: $40 per load

  • Breakdown: $100/day | Layover: $50/day

  • Full benefits + 401(k) available

Home Time & Routes

  • OTR flatbed with some regional work

  • 2,000–2,500 miles per week

  • Flexible, non-forced dispatch

  • Many drivers reset at home on weekends depending on location

  • 40–50% tarping

Equipment

  • Newer automatic Cascadia/T680 tractors

  • Assigned truck, 65 mph

  • Inverters allowed; event-based dash cams

  • Rider program (18+) + pet friendly

Minimum Requirements

  • Age 22+

  • 1 year OTR (3+ states) + 6 months flatbed in last 5 years

  • Experience with steel/pipe securement, straps, tarps, chains & binders

  • Max 3 moving violations (3 years)

  • Max 1 major violation (3 years)

  • No DUI/DWI in last 5 years

  • Must pass background, drug screen, and have DOT physical (6+ months)

  • Must document employment gaps

Orientation

  • 3-day orientation in Birmingham, AL

  • Hotel + meals included

  • Travel covered or reimbursed
